Introduction
Before joining KSU, Dr. Lei Shi held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at Columbia University, collaborating closely with Dr. Vijay Vedula. He completed his Ph.D. under the guidance of Professor Kristin Myers at the same department. As the Director of the Intelligent Biomechanics Lab, Professor Shi leads research efforts at the intersection of experimental, computational, and machine-learning technologies, with a primary focus on soft tissue digital twins. His work encompasses various areas, including cardiovascular, reproductive, and gastrointestinal systems, as well as soft robotics. He is one of the main contributors to the open-source FEA software - svFSI and several neural-network based physics simulation projects.
